Dr. Gaurav Kumar has graduated from Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara, and an institute of the Manipal Group of colleges. This college is recognized by the British Columbia Student Assistance Program (BCSAP) and Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), also enlisted with the WHO.

 He has completed his postgraduate M.S. orthropedics training from Sri Ramachandra Medical College Chennai, which is also a special training centre for sports medicine and arthroscopy. This institute boasts of training its postgraduate students in joint replacement and trauma surgery in a skills lab and cadaveric surgical training.

 Since completion of his postgraduate training, which spanned a period of more than seventeen years, he has been practicing in Lucknow

 Joined Sahara Hospital, the first corporate hospital in Lucknow, where he worked from 2009 to 2012.

 Teaching being his primary passion pulled him to the Integral Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Lucknow, which had started a 350-bed teaching hospital in 2012. He has the credit of being the foundering member of the department of orthopaedics at IIMSR and holds the distinction of starting all major trauma surgeries in the college and primary arthroplasty, mainly hip surgeries.

 During his tenure at IIMSR, apart from teaching medical students, he has also achieved many milestones in doing complex trauma and joint surgeries. He also holds a fellowship in arthroplasty from Medanta Medical Hospital Gurgaon, done under world-renowned surgeon Dr. S.K.S. Marya, and a fellowship in arthroscopy from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, done under a very reputed sports and arthroscopy surgeon who has treated many renowned sportspeople.

 He now works as Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopedics at Hind Medical College, Ataria. Beside consultation and surgeries, he also trains young postgraduate surgeons, preparing them for the future.
